The National Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Sammy Gyamfi has claimed that men and women in uniform are excited the cover of miscreant Brigadier General Opoku has been blown in the media and public space.
According to the NDC and Sammy Gyamfi Brigadier General Opoku has been tasked by President Akufo-Addo to rig the elections in the Ashanti Region ahead of the 2024 polls.
Addressing the press on Tuesday, November 19, Sammy Gyamfi revealed, saying, “Having relocated to the United Kingdom, Brigadier General Opoku has vowed to do all it takes to carry out his shady election-rigging plots in exchange for the position of Chief of Defense staff in the unlikely event that the NPP wins the 2024 elections”.
Speaking on JOYNEWS AM Show, Sammy Gyamfi claimed, “The only person who may not be aware that what we have put out is proof in itself, you may be the only person who is not scandalized and appalled by the fact that a person with such a criminal record will be given such a position”.
“But for me from the feedback we have received even from the military, let me salute all our noble men and women in uniform, who are working diligently to protect us the feedback is overwhelming they are excited that the cover of a miscreant has been blown, they are excited that the issues have been laid bare in the media and public space”, he claimed.
Meanwhile, at the press conference on Tuesday, the NDC called for the immediate removal of Brigadier General Michael Opoku, from the Ghana Armed Forces.
