This decision comes after the State prosecutor, Inspector Maxwell Kwakye, informed the court today that the case has been referred to the Attorney General’s office for advice.

The seven suspects, who were remanded on 22 October 2024, are facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder, aiding to commit murder, and murder.

The court had initially adjourned the case to today, 21 November 2024, but the delay in receiving the Attorney General’s advice means the next hearing will not take place until December.

The family of the deceased has expressed gratitude to the police and the court for their handling of the case, and they continue to seek justice for their loved one.

Mr. Asamoah Boadu, the uncle of Lance Corporal Boakye, shared that the burial of the deceased is scheduled for 30 November 2024 at Galilea.

He has called on Ghanaians to attend the funeral and mourn with the family.

Kennedy Acheampong, the Assembly Member for Iron City, also commended the professionalism of the police and the court, but urged the Attorney General’s office to expedite its advice to avoid further delays in the legal process.
