Leader and Presidential Candidate of the Movement for Change, Alan Kyerematen has been entreated to join the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and enjoy in the defeat of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December 7, 2024 polls.
Special aide to the NDC’s Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Mawah Mogtari made this clarion call after a recent explosive interview by Alan Kyerematen, a founding member and former member of the NPP.
Alan Kyerematen has criticised former President John Agyekum Kufuor over his recent endorsement of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Presidential Candidate for the 2024 general elections.
The former President emphasised that, given the current global circumstances, he believes Bawumia’s presidency could significantly improve Ghana’s economy.
Reacting to Mr. Kufuor’s remarks, Alan Kyerematen expressed his disapproval, claiming that the former president’s endorsement compromises the impartiality expected from a statesman of Kufuor’s stature.
“Kufuor is my uncle, and I hesitate to publicly criticize him. However, his endorsement has cast a significant shadow over his political career. Have you noticed how his comments have sparked negative reactions and criticism from the public?” Alan stated.
Alan Kyerematen went on to express his concerns over Kufuor’s involvement in active politics at this stage, warning that it could erode the respect he commands across the country.
Reacting to this interview, Joyce Bawah Mogtari took to her official X page to say, “Alan Cash, take heart, I can feel your pain and I understand your frustration but please join the winning side John Mahama and the NDC so that together we can put all your naysayers to shame! Good morning Sir! Have a great day!”
