Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama has leveled serious accusations against the ruling government, claiming that all fake news circulating on blogs and social media originates from the Jubilee House.
Speaking at a recent campaign tour in the Eastern Region , Mahama responded to a call by Nana Kwabena Ofori II, the Chief of Asene Akroso, who urged the media to report his words accurately and avoid spreading misinformation.
In his remarks, Mahama took the opportunity to accuse the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government of deliberately fabricating false stories in a bid to influence public opinion.
“The fake news is coming directly from the Jubilee House,” Mahama alleged.
“The Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government has hired people specifically to create and spread false stories online.”
He claimed that these individuals are paid to generate misleading narratives, which are then propagated on social media platforms and news blogs.
Mahama, who has long been a critic of the government, further asserted that he himself has been a victim of this orchestrated misinformation campaign, with fake stories aimed at damaging his reputation and undermining his political credibility.
