According to Cheddar Ghana has not had a leader whose priority was not to resolve the decades-long Bawku conflict.

Speaking to some residents of the area, Nana Kwame Bediako said, “We have not gotten a leadership that this has been their priority, why is it that there has been conflict in my country, for over 100 years and no one has been able to solve it but I want to tell you that.

“One day I will bring a princess from Bawku, and I will bring a Prince from Walewale, and I will put them together, and you will see that these two families can belong to each other, just so you see that blood is thicker than water”, he revealed.

He further added, “When you start to take your people’s lives away you will see that the Princess now has given birth for the prince and that is when you realize you are all one”.

Nana Kwame Bediako further stated that he wants to make the nation become one people, one nation, and one country.

Meanwhile, there has been an escalation of violence following the resurgence of a long-standing chieftaincy conflict, sparked by the return of rival chief Alhaji Seidu Abagre from exile.

The government has imposed a curfew in Bawku to address the unrest, effective October 28, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM daily.
