Former Party Chairman of the NDC, Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo says with his longstanding experience in the Ghanaian political practice, he can smell victory when it is close and by that the NDC is winning the elections on a one touch note.
He made this comment while answering question on what the NDC will do if victory is eluded them after the collation of results. The former Chairman mentioned that, he has been on the campaign trains of both the NDC flag bearer and the running mate, touring the entire country, visiting villages and engaging with constituents and the feedback clearly tells there is victory in the air for them.
He maintained that, on December 7, 2024, he can see in his mind’s eye that John Dramani Mahama will himself a Historian, make history for others to record into the archives as the first Ghanaian President to make a return to the presidency. He likened the return of John Dramani Mahama to that of Donald Trump in the United States elections.
According to him, the Americans brought Trump back because he upheld the family values bill so high that the ordinary Americans believed in what he stood for and voted massively to bring him back to the White house. He said on Ghana, it is only John Dramani Mahama who has upheld the anti-gay bill so high and vowed to sign it into law when he becomes president again. He shared that, the NPP government is
hiding behind the Supreme Court to delay signing of the bill.
These he shared as reasons why he smells victory in the air for the NDC and John Mahama because Ghanaians are ready to vote for him to sign the bill and criminalize the practice of LGBTQ in the country
