inability of the people of Santrokofi, Akpafu, Likpe, and Lolobi (SALL) to cast their ballot in the parliamentary election in 2020 was a grand scheme to ensure victory for the New Patriotic Pary (NPP) John Peter Amewu, North Tongu lawmaker Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has said.

He says this situation falls within the realm of gerrymandering.

The denial of SALL the right to vote in the 2020 parliamentary elections clearly falls within the realm of gerrymandering.

It was clear that there was an agenda to facilitate victory for the ruling government in Hohoe,” Mr Ablakwa said on the Agenda show on TV3.

He added “I feel so embarrassed to have served in this 8th Parliament, which is not complete a Parliament that did not have four communities represented. We were just representatives of some of the people, not all the people.”

Nothing must be swept under the red carpet of the hallowed chamber when that time comes.”

Ablakwa warned that those responsible for undermining Ghana’s democracy “must know there’s a heavy price to pay.”
