A netizen has reacted to the vice President and Presidential candidate of the NPP Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia announcement of free dialysis for NHIS beneficiaries.
According to the social media user in 2020 during Covid before the 2020 elections, Akufo-Addo initiated a free water policy and a couple of months later he made Ghanaians pay for the free water.
His full post read, “2020 during Covid and Before the Election, Nana Addo gave us free water. A couple of months into 2021 he made us pay for the water he gave us for free. 2024 Bawumia has activated Free Dialysis for people with NHIS. I fear for those who will benefit and think it’s free”.
Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia announced that starting December 1, 2024, the government will provide free dialysis treatment for all kidney patients covered by the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
He made this known at a stakeholder meeting in the Old Tafo Pankrono Constituency,
Dr. Bawumia stated, “Six months ago, we started the pilot program for patients above 60 and those below 18. We are finally bringing the pilot to an end. From December 1, all patients will receive free treatment under the NHIS”.
