Speaking on GTV presidential encounters, John Mahama stated, “Today it is the reverse, the prices of all these things have gone up, petroleum has gone up, the currency is depreciating, the price of Kenkey has gone up, kenkey used to be 50 pesewas and 1 cedi today it is 5 cedis and 7 cedis and for a person like me I probably might eat two balls or three balls”.

“Today if I eat three kenkey balls that is15 cedis and then one fried fish is 20 cedis so you are talking about 35 40 cedis just to have a meal of kenkey and so if a person has to have 3 square meals you are spending 35 cedis on every meal you can imagine what the minimum wage is, it far less, there is no way and that is a single individual not to talk about the family”, John Mahama reiterated.

The NDC flagbearer further added, “I can smell the wind of change coming I can tell that Ghanaians appreciate what we did when we were in government a lot of propaganda made Ghanaians not know that we were managing things well, they said that life was hard”.
