The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Awutu Senya West, Moses Arhinful Acquah, has summoned the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Gizzella Agbotui Tetteh, to appear before the Awutu Breku Traditional Council over allegations concerning the disbursement of the MP’s Common Fund.

The controversy began when the MP accused the DCE of distributing documents that falsely claim to be her Common Fund, while also spreading rumors that she had misused the funds that the DCE himself had authorized.

In a meeting with the media after the council’s session, Tetteh requested that the DCE display greater maturity and stop seeking “cheap political advantages” by falsely accusing her.

“I urge the DCE to stop feigning intelligence and instead allow the relevant authorities to handle this matter.

I have nothing to hide, and I am calling for the District Audit Service to thoroughly audit my management of the Common Fund,” Gizzella Agbotui Tetteh stated.

The MP also called on her supporters in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to remain calm, focus on their work, and rally behind John Dramani Mahama’s bid for the presidency, while also supporting her re-election as MP to continue her work in developing the constituency.

The case was heard by the standing committee of the Awutu Traditional Council, which is led by Nai Ntow Bosompim.

The traditional leaders cautioned the DCE, Moses Acquah, urging him to refrain from spreading false information and defamatory statements about the MP in the future.

The matter has brought attention to tensions between the MP and the DCE, with both sides now awaiting further investigation and resolution from the appropriate authorities.
