The Ghana Police service has been named in a ploy to allegedly frame Ghanaian advocate Oliver Barker-Vormawor of being in bed with the Russians to disrupt the December 7, 2024 elections.

According to an X post made by Oliver Barker-Vormawor, the Ghana Police Service held a meeting with journalists in the country and told them he (Oliver) was being funded by the Russians to cause havoc in the elections.

“Pause in break! I have credible information that the Ghana Police Service organized an event after my arrest, where they briefed several and senior Journalists that they had intelligence that I was being funded by the Russians to disrupt the 2024 elections,” portions of his post read.

Oliver Barker-Vormawor was arrested for his involvement in incidents that took place on Saturday, September 21, and Sunday, September 22, at the 37 Intersection in Accra during the Democracy Hub demonstrations.

The three-day demonstration was organized by the Democracy Hub to address concerns about economic mismanagement and other national issues.

On the first day, demonstrators caused disruptions at the 37 Roundabout, prompting police intervention.

During the second day, Oliver Barker-Vormawor was seen removing the key from a police towing truck and throwing it away.

The truck had been brought in by the police to tow a vehicle the protesters had used to block the main road. In an attempt to maintain order, police officers sought to clear the road, but the convenor sneaked into the running vehicle, switched off the engine, removed the key, and tossed it aside.

Oliver Barker-Vormawor has been granted bail to the tune of GH¢20,000 with two sureties after being detained for three weeks.

Ever since his bail, Oliver has made it a point to be releasing one expose after the other.
