The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on December 16 in Marrakech, Morocco.

In the Young Player of the Year category, Côte d’Ivoire earned two nominations there with Brighton and Hove Albion forward Simon Adingra, together with Oumar Diakite. Senegal’s Lamine Camara, Gambia’s Yakubu Minteh, and Morocco’s Eliesse Ben Seghir will compete for the title as well.

South Africa’s Ronwen Williams, Cameroon’s Andre Onana, Côte d’Ivoire’s Yahia Fofana, Nigeria’s Stanley Nwabali, and Egypt’s Mostafa Shobeir are in the running for the Goalkeeper of the Year.

Ghanaians expected to at least clinch a consolidation in the Men’s Player of the Year category but missed out of there as well. The nominees for the category included Simon Adingra (Côte d’Ivoire), Serhou Guirassy (Guinea), Achraf Hakimi (Morocco), Ademola Lookman (Nigeria), and Ronwen Williams (South Africa).
