The Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan, Joe Ghartey, has issued a strong warning to voters in the Cape Coast South Constituency, urging them not to bring Ghana back to the dark days of ‘dumsor’ (power outages) and economic hardship under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) rule.

Speaking during a large campaign float in Cape Coast on Sunday, Ghartey emphasized that the country cannot afford to repeat the painful experiences of the past.

“We cannot afford to go back to the days of dumsor and economic misery,” Ghartey stated. “Under the NDC, we suffered terribly, and we cannot let that happen again.

The New Patriotic Party has brought stability, and we must continue on this path of progress.”

Ghartey’s comments came as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) continued its campaign ahead of the December 7, 2024 general election, with NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Cape Coast South, Ernest Arthur, also urging constituents to recognize the NPP government’s achievements in both the constituency and across the nation.

The NPP has delivered on its promises both here in Cape Coast and across the country. We have worked hard, and I urge you all to vote for progress vote for me and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia come December 7,” Arthur said.

Arthur called on voters to support him and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for a continued prosperous future under the NPP’s leadership.

“We have come too far to turn back now. Let’s not go back to the failed promises of the past. Ghana deserves better.”
