Ace Journalist and President of Nineteen Fifty Seven clothing Kofi Okyere Darko has refuted claims that the fashion industry is highly occupied by the LGBTQ group.
He revealed that, such assertions and clichés are unfounded because, people who practice the LGBTQ are not solely into the fashion industry but are everywhere. He revealed that, in Ghana you can find gays everywhere and it will appear shocking when people become aware that even their Members of Parliament are gays and lesbians.
According to him, the actualization of the practice of the LGBTQ and its incessant tag to people who have feminine features and behaviour is one great reason why they even enter into it. He added that, it is because the country has not fully accepted the practice and also with the family values Bill pending signature, it only appears the fashion industry is the place people have focused on with the LGBTQ eye.
He further shared how the tag and discussion of the LGBTQ is affecting real showcase of affection between male friends especially. He added that years ago, two male friends could hold hands and put hands on each others shoulders and take a walk or even go for photoshoots but it appears as an omen now to do so.
