Five dead,30 hospitalized in kasoa cholera outbreak

Five people have been confirmed dead while 30 others are still on admission at the Kasoa Polyclinic and Mother and Child Hospital after a cholera outbreak hit Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.

The victims have been admitted to the Kasoa Polyclinic and the Mother and Child Hospital.

Municipal Chief Executive Anita Love Obo Amissah confirmed that three of the deceased lost their lives on Thursday night, while the other two passed away on Friday afternoon.

In an interview with Adom News, the MCE revealed that the number of infected individuals increased from 20 to 30 as of this afternoon and urged Ghanaians to exercise caution to avoid further spread.

She commended the healthcare workers at Kasoa Polyclinic and Kasoa Mother and Child Hospital for their relentless efforts to save lives.

Additionally, Madam Amissah noted that some patients from the Gomoa East District, which lacks hospital facilities, have been referred to Kasoa Polyclinic for treatment.
