Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, says the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is the only political party which has the ability to cause electoral violence and rigging elections.

According to him, the NDC has a historical association with violence and revolutions, hence making every possibility of electoral violence and rigging linked to them.

He argued that the NDC is aware of their potential loss in the December 7 elections and has begun accusing the NPP of planning to rig the polls.

However, he emphasized that if any party is likely to attempt electoral manipulation, it would be the NDC.

Mr. Agyepong pointed to a recent statement by the NDC leadership, highlighting their revolutionary background and claiming expertise in violence, as evidence of their propensity for such actions. He argued that the NDC is the only political party in Ghana capable of using violence during this election.

He further stressed that the upcoming elections should not be about violence or insults but about policies, developmental initiatives, and plans presented by the competing parties. These, he stated, are the factors Ghanaians will consider when casting their votes.

As the election approaches, Mr. Agyepong encouraged Ghanaians to turn out in large numbers to vote for the NPP, promising a transformative experience under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership.
