According to the CHRAJ report signed by the Commissioner of CHRAJ, Joseph Whittal called on the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) to interfere and cancel the contract with Ribade Company Ltd.

Part of CHRAJ findings reads, “The Board of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) should intervene to cancel the contract for the construction of the National Cathedral between the National Cathedral and RIBADE company as it has the power to do so under the Procurement Act”

“The Commission recommends for further investigation and possible prosecution of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral who superintended over the award of the contract to RIBADE company in disregard to Act 663 as amended”, it added

Meanwhile, the National Cathedral project was suspended in 2022 due to financial constraints, it is estimated that the project requires $450 million to complete.
