The leader of the NDC caucus in parliament, Ato Forson has revealed being voted out of office is not a yardstick to find out if a government performed or not.

Ato Forson noted that when the John Mahama administration was leaving office, youth unemployment was 21.2% but today youth unemployment stands at 38.7% under the Akufo-Addo Bawumia government.

According to Ato Forson, he wants Ghanaians to know that they are not claiming to be perfect, but they are far better than what Ghanaians are seeing today from the NPP.

Speaking on Nhyira FM in an interview, Ato Forson revealed, “I want Ghanaians to know we are not claiming to be perfect, but we are far better than what Ghanaians are seeing today”.

“I think the NDC passed but the NPP failed, being voted out is not a yardstick to find out if a government performed or not, when the citizens feel that it is time for Change it does not matter with your performance, and we have seen that in a democracy all over the world”, he revealed.

Ato Forson further reiterated, “There are times the citizens feel yes you have done some, but go and let a different person come in the interest of Democracy it happens, or sometimes the opposition talks so much that citizens feel the incumbent is not working that is what we saw in 2016, we heard what Bawumia said the economic whizkid, the economic messiah that was coming to turn the country around”.

Meanwhile, Ghanaians go to the polls in 11 days to decide their next president and their members of parliament for the next four years.
