Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe, the Director of Legal Affairs for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has alleged that the NPP presidential candidate Dr. Bawumia was briefed on the 22,000 expired bags of rice but kept quiet.
According to Edudzi Tamakloe, he is very pained, disgusted, and disappointed in the leadership of Akufo-Addo and Bawumia.
Speaking on TV3 NewDay, he stated, “From December 2023, but for Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa they were keeping it, in fact, Bawumia was briefed on these key findings and kept quiet, the fear was that if this thing came out, and parents became aware that their children had been fed with expired rice their campaign on Free SHS is going to collapse”.
“So Bawumia basically instructed…, I feel so disappointed and disgusted that a group of people can do this to their fellow citizens. Parents the verdict is yours either to support this impunity or to reject it,” he added.
Edudzi Tamakloe further revealed, “Listen, for a government in a very murderous manner fed our children, our brothers and sisters in the various secondary schools with expired rice it is the lowest I have seen from any government.
Hon. Ablakwa, through a parliamentary oversight, uncovered a grand callous, dangerous, murderous, and corrupt scheme that puts the health of Senior High School students in extreme jeopardy.
He revealed that a crony company was allowed to criminally re-package over 22,000 50kg bags of expired and contaminated rice into different 50kg bags without expiry dates under the full protection of NPP political heavyweights.
