Officials from Geo’s Anointing Limited stormed a school in Ga South to evict both students and teachers while academic activities were ongoing, demanding payment for an outstanding debt of over GHC 400,000.
The company, which secured a contract through the Ghana Education Trust Fund in 2017, completed a project at the school in 2018.
However, only part of the contract sum was paid, leaving a significant balance.
Despite repeated efforts, the company has been unable to recover the outstanding amount.
In October this year, the company refrained from taking action after the Municipal Chief Executive of Ga South, Joseph Nyarni, intervened, requesting a two-week period to address the payment issue.
Speaking to yawa News, Christopher Newman, a spokesperson for Geo’s Anointing Limited, stated that the company’s assets had been seized by its bankers, leaving them with no choice but to shut down the school in a bid to recover their money.
