Ghanaian-based US social commentator Kevin Taylor has alleged that a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Otchere-Darko is plotting a coup against John Mahama should he win the 2024 elections.
Kevin Taylor on his show revealed that he had intercepted a phone conversation between Gabby Otchere Darko and two men saying if Mahama wins they will plot a coup within three months.
Kevin Taylor stated, “7 December when the votes are counted and John Mahama wins and goes home, even after Mahama wins everybody should be on guard. Mahama, I heard that Gabby Otchere Darko with two other men saying if Mahama wins the elections within three months they will plot a coup, yes Gabby Otchere Darko. Me I am saying I heard it, if he likes he should tell me I am lying”.
“I heard Gabby Otchere Darko on the phone telling two people their problem is not about NDC coming to power, what Akufo-Addo hates is Mahama”, he reiterated.
According to Kevin Taylor President Akufo-Addo is not worried about the NDC winning the elections but hates John Mahama and does not want him to return as president.
“Akufo-Addo is not the NDC winning power that is worrying him. It is John Mahama they hate, you don’t know why, they hate John Mahama to the core, Akufo-Addo hates Mahama”, he added.
Kevin Taylor reiterated, “So, Gabby told those people in the room that he was having a meeting with, he told them that if even Mahama wins within 3 months plot a coup to remove him from office, they just don’t like the idea of Mahama being president again because they know what they have done”.
He further called on Ghanaians to give the NDC total power and a full parliament on December 7.
