“What the country needs now is an independent, impartial, credible investigation not one that would be conducted by a ministry that is complicit”.

He described the ministry’s decision to investigate the matter as “disingenuous and deceptive”.

He reiterated his disappointment in the ministry’s claim of not having knowledge of the issue.

““I am disappointed the Ministry of Education is claiming ignorance and trying to pretend that it only got to know this when I put out this expose. I had intercepted an investigative report by the Food and Drugs Authority”.

According to him, this issue dates back to January 2024, when the deputy Education minister was briefed, but nothing was done to stop the distribution.

““As far back as January, a deputy Minister of Education, Rev. Ntim Fordjour was briefed about this matter, as far back as January, the ministry could have stopped this distribution of expired, contaminated rice which had been re-bagged without expiry date and which all our SHS students have been fed on”.

My attention has been drawn to the Ministry of Education’s statement indicating that they have commenced investigations into my exposé about how over 22,000 50kg bags of expired and contaminated rice was criminally re-packaged and fed to Free SHS students.
