Maxwell Kofi Jumah, Managing Director of GIHOC, expressed strong views about Alan Kyerematen’s departure from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during an interview on Angel FM in Kumasi on October 16, 2024. According to Jumah, Alan’s decision to leave the NPP and run as an independent candidate is misguided, suggesting that Kyerematen will eventually return to the party once he “regains his senses.”
“If you lose your mind in the NPP, you end up in the NDC. But when you gain sense, you come back to the NPP,” Jumah stated, emphasizing his belief that Alan Kyerematen would eventually realize his mistake and return to the party.
Jumah further claimed that former President John Dramani Mahama was secretly backing Kyerematen, aiming to reduce the NPP’s votes in the Ashanti Region, particularly in key constituencies like Ejisu. He accused the NDC of financing Kyerematen’s campaign, including that of businessman Freedom Jacob Caesar (also known as Cheddar), whom Kyerematen allegedly brought in to contest for influence in the region.
Jumah confidently remarked, “Alan should seek therapy, and when he regains his senses, he will come back to the NPP.” He continued, “The NDC’s plan to use Alan to split our votes in Ashanti will not work, and Ghanaians have become wise to this scheme.”
