We will no longer play Shatta Wale’s songs on our station- Abena Moet

Entertainment presenter on Neat FM, Abena Moet has declined her colleague Ola Michael’s efforts to play a song from dancehall artiste Shatta Wale.

It begun when a listener called into the station, requesting a Shatta Wale song and Ola Michael agreed to play it.

However, Abena Moet opposed the idea, firmly stating that she will not allow it happen because Shatta Wale had disrespected their boss Osei Kwame Despite therefore, his songs could not be played on their station.

“He (Ola) is not the only one who can forgive; all of us have not forgiven him. So, I don’t know how he will play the song; maybe he will play it in his car after closing from here. No, you can’t insult the owner of the station and expect us to play your song here. He should build his own station and play it there” she told the listener.

In October 2023, Shatta Wale attacked Akwasi Aboagye and the owners of Despite Media after the presenter questioned the artist’s claim of being paid £80,000 for his appearance at the 2023 Ghana Music Awards UK, calling it false.

Following his outbursts and the use of inappropriate language against the founders and employees of Despite Media, the musician has been banned from the station.
