Video: ”I’m just here to chill” – #FreeTheCitizens Protestor

#FreeTheCitizens demonstration, an ongoing 3-day demonstration organized by Ghanaian youth against illegal mining has attracted a number of youth with different intent and purposes.

A young Ghanaian man who was seen amongst #FreeTheCitizens protestors has shared his purpose for joining the protest, and sadly it is not in line with the mission of convenors of the demonstration.

Asked by a journalist why he joined the demonstration, whilst laughing he said, “I am just here to chill men…I am just here to chill.”

A 3-day protest under the hashtags, #FreeTheCitizens and #SayNoToGalamsey is currently ongoing in Ghana.

This protest is to draw attention to the effects of galamsey on Ghana and also demand for the release of some 54 #Democracy Hub demonstrators arrested and charged with various charged, including conspiracy to commit a crime, unlawful assembly, causing unlawful damage, and offensive conduct.

The demonstration which started on October 3rd, 2024 will end on Saturday October 5th, 2024.
