According to one Dr. Chinonso Egemba, “There’s not much you can do once rabies start to get to this stage. It’s one of those diseases that must be best prevented. Once a person gets bitten by a rabid dog, seek care immediately because once it enters the nervous system… you’ll have to depend on a miracle. Vaccines, however, can prevent infection with rabies, both people and animals” he said.

Rabies is a fatal viral disease, vaccine preventable, affecting the central nervous system. It’s up to 99% of the human rabies cases, dogs are responsible for the virus transmission. Children between the age of 5 and 14 years are frequent victims.
