The NPP parliamentary candidate for North Tongu Dr. John Eleblu in a recent debate on TV3’s Communities Manifesto sharply criticized current MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for what he termed “vigilantism.”
Dr. Eleblu urged Ablakwa to focus on promoting the interests of North Tongu rather than engaging in personal attacks against individuals he deems corrupt.
He stated, “There are institutions mandated to address corruption. When you take it upon yourself to label individuals as corrupt, you are overstepping your role and undermining those institutions.”
“When someone decides to be the lawyer, prosecutor, and judge, it crosses the line into vigilantism. As an MP, your responsibility should be to serve the people, not to pursue personal vendettas.”
Dr. Eleblu recounted incidents from the past where Ablakwa targeted his father during the 2012 and 2016 elections.
“He sought to tarnish my father’s reputation, taking him to court despite the fact that he was ultimately found not guilty,” Dr. Eleblu shared. “This isn’t just about me; he has done this to several others as well.”
