The peaceful demonstration was organized by the Concerned Youth of La, who demand respect for the suspension orders placed on the LTC by the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.

Participants carried placards and chanted slogans, emphasizing the need for transparency and respect for the La Stool’s assets.

“Our motivation is to ensure that the La Stool’s properties are protected and not sold off without proper authority,” said one demonstrator. “We will continue to pressure the government and the council until our voices are heard.”

The protest, which followed a prior session held by the suspended LTC on October 9, drew significant attention from local and national media.

Demonstrators emphasized that they will not back down until there is clear action from the government to address the council’s overreach.

“We need to keep protesting to catch their attention because they act like they haven’t seen our concerns,” another attendee stated.

The demonstration began at La Market Square and followed a designated route through key locations, including La Bethel Presby Church and the La Municipal Assembly.

Protesters also planned to present petitions at the La Lumorshishi Royal Palace and the municipal assembly, demanding accountability and adherence to traditional governance structures.
