Former Black Stars midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, says the current crop of players in the national team have no character and passion when it comes to playing for the nation.

He was quick to point out the fact that individual players of the Black Stars excel at their club teams, but fail to deliver when playing for the nation.

“The thing is the players are doing very well in their clubs but when they come to (play for) Ghana there is a problem. Ball control even becomes difficult for them. Look at the first goal, two (2) defenders and the opponent manages to find his way between you two. You can’t even tell what the defenders were trying to do, whether to block or ball or what. You don’t have a team, you don’t have character, you don’t have passion, you don’t have nothing. And (they) can’t defend any ball. Open play, individual brilliance, set pieces are all not working. Where are you heading to? The team is doomed,” he said in a post match interview of the Ghana Sudan game.

The Sudan senior men’s team, beat the Black Stars of Ghana 2-0 to maintain their second position in the group.

After a goalless first half game at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Benghazi, Sudan opened the scoresheet in the 62nd minute before scoring the second goal in the 65th minute.

Ghana however has a little hope of qualifying for the tournament, banking on Sudan to lose its 2 remaining games, and Ghana winning its to remaining games.
