The Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama has said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is out of touch with reality.
According to John Mahama, the NPP is laughing at his idea of providing chicks to the youth to start poultry farming while they have been spending three hundred million dollars on the importation of chickens every year.
Speaking at a campaign platform in the North, John Mahama stated, “There are many programs that we have included in our manifesto, and one of them is to help our people establish small and medium enterprises, I remember I was talking about poultry, and I said we would help young people start poultry farming, and so we would provide them with baby chickens”.
“The NPP is laughing so poultry farmers are not important, you are importing almost three hundred million dollars of chicken every year and if I say we would help young people to produce chicken by giving them small baby chicks and giving them fed to feed them you find it funny, it just they are out of touch with reality”, he added.
He added that the NDC will prioritize small and medium enterprises because they will grow in the future to become big industries and factories.
