Speaking on JOY FM Super Morning Show, Prof. Gyampo noted the NPP MPs knew the right thing, but they sacrificed it because of partisan politics and now it has affected them.

He said, “If you know the right thing and you sacrifice just because of partisan politics, it will come back to haunt us, the NPP did it under Mike Ocquaye, they liked it now it was wrong then, and now it is being done against them now they are crying”.

“They should have frustrated it or prevented that interpretation by Professor Ocquaye, but they enjoyed it now it is being used against them and now they are crying and I am saying to the NDC that they shouldn’t be too happy about this because tomorrow it may be used against them”, he reiterated.

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Bagbin, yesterday 17 October 2024 officially declared four parliamentary seats vacant. They include Peter Yaw Kwakye Ackah of Amenfi Central (NDC), Andrew Amoakoh Asiama of Fomena, Kojo Asante of Suhum (NPP), and Cynthia Morrison of Agona West (NPP).

This follows a formal petition submitted by Haruna Iddrisu, an NDC MP, to the Speaker, this led to the NPP majority now being declared the minority in parliament.
