This comes after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) officially instructed him (Kwesi Appiah) to resign from one of his positions (either as Sudan’s coach or from the GFA Exco) before the upcoming Ghana versus Sudan Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.

Kwesi Appiah is currently the head coach of Sudan’s national football team while also serving as an Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

His dual roles have sparked criticism among sections of football fans, with some urging him to relinquish one of his positions to avoid a potential conflict of interest.

Ahead of the AFCON 2025 qualifiers doubleheader, CAF formally directed Appiah to step down from either his GFA position or his role as Sudan’s coach before the matches.
