Ellen Ama Daaku a communication team member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said the Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin is joking about declaring four MP seats vacant.
According to Ellen Ama Daaku, the four MPs whose seat the Speaker claims is vacant are saying in the next parliament which does not concern Speaker Bagbin they are coming as independent candidates.
Speaking on Adom FM Dwaso Nsem Panel Discussion Ellen Ama Daaku said, “For the next parliament, I am not going with my party anymore, I am going independent, some also said I have gone independent, and I am back to join the NPP, you that you are the Speaker of Parliament for this 8th parliament, and what will happen in the next parliament does not concern you, you claim you have declared their seat vacant and sack them”.
The communication member of the NPP also added that the Speaker is the one claiming that is the law, and they don’t agree with him and claimed in 2020 she was not there and does not remember what happened.
“We are going to court, in 2020 the NDC should have gone to court, I didn’t hear anyone go to court about that matter. Ours we say we don’t understand, and we have taken it to court in 6 weeks we are going to vote NDC MPs are hot are they doing to leave their campaign to come and sit in parliament and follow the play of the speaker”, She added.
Ellen Ama Daaku also claimed the NDC is not a serious party 6 weeks before the 2024 election they are busily fighting for the majority in parliament when they should be campaigning with John Mahama.
