Majority Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh has asserted that any chaos in Parliament should be blamed on the Speaker.

He stated, “The Speaker set the tone, the Speaker set the stage,” referencing recent developments following the Supreme Court’s ruling to stay Speaker Alban Bagbin’s October 17 decision that declared four parliamentary seats vacant.

Annoh-Dompreh expressed concern over the Speaker’s meetings with the Minority, suggesting these discussions have emboldened them to make provocative statements.

He criticized the Minority’s press conference, labeling it a “knee-jerk reaction” to the Supreme Court’s ruling.

‘’We will do everything and anything, including self defense, to ensure that they don’t walk over us’’.

As both NPP and NDC MPs prepare for today’s anticipated sitting, tensions remain high, with both sides vowing to maintain their majority positions in light of the controversial ruling that has shifted the balance in Parliament, now favoring the NDC with 136 seats against the NPP’s 135.

New security measures have been implemented in anticipation of the session.
