Some unidentified group of Gas has told the former president and the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama to retract some derogatory comments he made about Gas.
According to John Mahama Speaking to NDC supporters in the Ablekuma South Constituency, as part of his tour of the Greater Accra region to canvass for votes, the former President said Gas and Dangmes only need Kenkey and fish to survive, not digitization as promoted by Dr. Bawumia.
Mahama said, “They will digitalize the kenkey. Does that mean you will eat digitization? But I know, by the grace of God, we will not eat digital kenkey. We eat real kenkey and fried fish”.
John Mahama’s comments have not been well-received by Ga youth, who insist that the Gas and Dangmes are disappointed in the comments, and he must retract them.
The Gas group speaking at a Press conference said, “In Mahama’s tenure, he told us he would give us a fishing Harbor at James Town, but he failed us, President Akufo-Addo has given us a fishing harbor, and we are telling Ghanaians in one week time if Mahama does not retract his statement then in the following week we will organize a strong and a massive protest against John Mahama we will organize everyone and we will come against you”.
