‘Polisifo ba’ – Viral Video of Chinese Galamseyer running away from site

A viral video has emerged on social media platform X, of a Chinese galamseyer running away from a galamsey site after being alerted police were coming.

In the viral video, the Chinese galamseyer was pranked by some Ghanaian galamseyer.

They shouted in twi “polisfo ba” which translates to “police are coming”, and the galamsey took to his heels and started running over the fear of being captured.

Galamsey in recent months has become the top issue dominating discussion among many Ghanaians on social media and across media platforms.

President Akufo-Addo has since in a press statement dated October 9, 2024, directed the Minister for Defense to deploy additional military forces to intensify the ongoing “Operation Halt”, which aims to curb illegal mining activities.
