The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has said the People’s National Convention (PNC) was wrongfully disqualified to contest in the upcoming elections.
Speaking of a campaign engagement John Mahama boldly claimed the Electoral Commission led by Jean Mensa is sometimes discriminatory and that is the problem they have with the EC.
Mahama said, “Unfortunately our brothers in the PNC were wrongly disqualified, I do not understand how come the PNC was not allowed to be on this ballot paper”
“The PNC is a more worthy party than several parties that I see here on the ballot paper, but that is the issue we have with the Electoral Commission, sometimes they are discriminatory because there are some people on this ballot paper who Bernard Mornarh qualifies more to be here than those people”, Mahama reiterated.
John Mahama asserted that his claims would promote controversy but meant what he was saying.
The Electoral Commission on September 20, 2024, in a statement revealed that 11 out of 24 Presidential candidates were disqualified for not correcting errors on their nomination forms.
Meanwhile, PNC’s Mornah has already taken legal action against the EC over his disqualification, expressing confidence that he will be reinstated as a candidate.
