During a recent gathering at their school, one student highlighted the importance of making peace a top demand from leaders, especially politicians.

She underscored the need for collective efforts to build a Ghana where every citizen, regardless of ability, can live in peace, dignity, and prosperity a country where every voice is heard, every need is met, and everyone is valued.

“We, the students from the Volta School for the Deaf and Blind, want to send a strong message to the public: Ghana is our only home, and we love our country.

No one should be swayed by politicians to incite trouble, as those of us with disabilities cannot see or hear when conflict arises.

We urge political leaders, chiefs, and all stakeholders to do everything in their power to ensure peace and unity. We need Ghana to remain united.

People with disabilities require accessibility, inclusion, and participation, but above all, we need peace during this election period.

Together, we can create a peaceful and enjoyable Ghana for everyone. We, too, deserve the best.”
