Although Parliament met a quorum, the parliament could not take any decision as the Members of Parliament were not up to 138.

There were only 136 MPs in parliament as the MPs of the New Patriotic Party refused to be seated for parliamentary business.

With this, parliament could not reach a decision on the Supreme Court’s stay on the declaration of 4 seats vacant by the Speaker, and other decisions including a vote on scrapping the e-levy.

Parliament requires a third of MPs to form a forum which it met. It also requires half of MPs to take a decision. In this case, parliament requires 137.5 (because we don’t a half of a person, it is rounded to 138) MPs to take a decision which was not met in parliament today.
