OWASS trolled after narrow NSMQ loss to Ghana National College

Social media, especially Twitter, was ablaze with jokes and trolling after Opoku Ware Senior High School (OWASS) narrowly lost to Ghana National College in a thrilling quarterfinal match of the 2024 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ). OWASS, who had maintained a lead from rounds 1 through 4, were overtaken in the dramatic final round, with Ghana National College finishing with 46 points to OWASS’s 45 points. Aburi Presby SHTS trailed in third place with 35 points.

Twitter users were quick to poke fun at OWASS, with one user jokingly posting, โ€œFankyenebra Lamine Yamal komot ๐Ÿ˜‚ first youngster to be eliminated twice, Owass awe.โ€ Another troll chimed in, โ€œThe whole world, ebi OWASS boys dem fool ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’” Dem go troll demma body before you even start with yours ๐Ÿ˜‚.โ€

The intense and narrow defeat had fans across Ghana buzzing, with OWASS supporters lamenting the close call and rivals seizing the opportunity to roast their performance. The playful banter has only added to the excitement around the NSMQ, as social media users continue to keep the tournament as competitive online as it is on the quiz stage.
