Ace Broadcast Journalist Captain Smart has alleged that the governing NPP are planning to sell Akosombo Dam to China.
Speaking on Onua Maakye Captain Smart claimed should Bawumia win the December polls they are going to sell off the Akosombo Dam.
Captain Smart challenged the energy minister saying, “I am daring the energy minister come and tell me what I am saying is a lie. Akosombo Dam is gone, the dam is going to China”.
He further detailed that the NPP government strategy is to merge the Volta River Authority with Bui Power Authority so it can be given to China.
Meanwhile, Senior Staff of Volta River Authority have also come out protesting government proposed Ghana Hydro Authority Bill which aims to merge the Volta River Authority (VRA) with other entities like the Bui Power Authority a move they have rejected.
They claimed government through the Ministry of Energy modus operandum was clear, in creating a thermal authority out of VRA and eventually sell if off.
