Residents of Dormaa Aboabo 1-4 in the Bono Region have threatened to boycott the upcoming December elections if the government fails to complete the long-overdue Dormaa-Aboabo Road project.

According to the residents, the road has been in poor condition for the past seven years, making it increasingly difficult for drivers to navigate.

Those who manage to use the road often charge double the usual fare due to its deplorable state.

The community members expressed their frustration, stating that they have not seen any benefits from the votes they have cast in the past.

They argue that voting without any accompanying developmental projects is pointless, and this time they are prepared to abstain from voting to highlight their dissatisfaction.

Kwaku Agyeman Manu, the Member of Parliament for the area, acknowledged the residents’ concerns, revealing that he has personally invested his own funds into the road project several times.

He recently secured 2 billion cedis for the contractor to complete the work, but the contractor informed him that only minor equipment was needed and has yet to mobilize.

The MP admitted his frustration, stating that he no longer makes promises to his constituents during his visits, as he dislikes failing to deliver on commitments.
