The Divisional Executives Council of the Public Services Workers Union, representing the National Identification Authority (NIA), has been directed by the National Labour Commission (NLC) to appear on October 10, 2024, following their strike declaration on October 7.
Public Services Workers Union of (TUC) National Identification Authority (NIA) division, yesterday declared an industrial strike in response to ongoing frustrations over the employer’s failure to implement a newly approved Scheme of Service. The strike was announced on October 7, 2024.

Workers expressed their frustration over the NIA’s failure to implement a newly approved Scheme of Service, stating that this inability undermines their rights and expectations as employees.

They have made it clear that they will not cease their industrial action until the promised scheme is put into effect, viewing the delay as a breach of trust and a threat to their welfare.
