A lady has disclosed she was able to save Ghc22,490 at the end of her National Service has generated a lot of conversations on X.
According to her, she started her savings in a money box right from the beginning of her National Service and was able to save that much with diligence.
She urged others about to start their National Service to also start practicing saving to earn such a lump sum at the end of their service.
Some social media users have reacted to the video, saying it is impossible to save that much as a service personnel, with some also claiming her savings were from other sources.
Monthly allowances of National Service Personnel was adjusted from GH¢559.04 to GH¢715.57 from January, 2023. Although this amount is the minimum expected to be paid to graduates during national service, some companies may choose to pay service personnel more.
Using the minimum amount of GH¢715.57, a personnel can make Ghc8,586.84 if the choose to save their allowances without spending a pesewa.
