Celebrated Dancehall artist, Shatta Wale has joined in on the ongoing galamsey campaign.

In a series of tweets on his X page, he noted how galamsey has been politicized in the country.

According to him, some influencers who led the recent Democracy Hub demo among other earlier protests, were paid by politicians to involve their opinions.

He explained that, the recent brouhaha by Ghanaians on illegal mining destroying water bodies has been exaggerated to influence voters in the upcoming December 7 elections.

“Ibe so nooorr u guys come with fix the country and got @efiaodo arrested …Stop this Nonesense cause this country can only get better if we join hands as citizens and not politicize things …Think ooo think … Some ppl go collect coins to come and influence you ……SMH…..Influencers with no brains … cheap Job to finish your own brothers and sisters mcheewww!!” he said in his post on X.

The dancehall musician condemned Ghanaians who are joining in on the galamsey fight, saying, “Bro Galamsey was there before they born you shut up for there … what is happening now is politics and if you don’t know anything about politics find something to do quickly and make money …. You can’t fight for Ghana alone, you will fight every Ghanaian to do that, that is what we call demonstration…F**l,” he told one social media user who clapped back at him.

Going into the history of Galamsey in Ghana, Shatta Wale said, “Galamsey was for family’s who inherited lands from our great grandfathers until the politician brought in foreigners to take it by force from them and sold it to these foreigners to make profits for for their own selfish gains … So you want to tell me the youth in Kumasi ,Obuasi etc are the ones causing the Galamsey problems right ..Herrh Accra boys…”.

Additionally, Shatta Wale stated that the type of demonstrations organized in the country have no effect on the politicians.

“They will go and demonstrate on the street and go and dance and come back and say they have accomplished their mission .. You think you can use 3 months to solve Ghana problem mcheewwww…Time wasters.”

“Masa u ppl shd go find something to do oo cuz these political parties you all are supporting know you ppl can’t shake them …All your tweets here won’t change anything unless you are ready fight them at Bukom Arena “ he emphasized.
