“I drink it everyday. Even this morning I drank water from the tap,” he responded to a question about if he will drink tap water in the rising cases of water pollution as a result of galamsey in Ghana.

His remarks come at a point in Ghana’s history where the country’s water bodies have been destroyed by illegal mining activities, which have introduced harmful chemicals into them (water bodies).

Although his comments are targetted at restoring confidence in Ghanaians, a recent video of the polluted River Densu, making its way to the Weija Dam has raised concenrs of the safety of drinking water in Ghana.

There have also been research indicating that Ghana may soon import drinking water if the galasmey menace is left unchecked.
