Actress Halima Abubakar has issued a public apology to Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries for making false accusations against him. In a letter posted on Instagram, she admitted to the harm caused by her allegations and sought his forgiveness.
Six months after a Federal Capital Territory High Court ordered her to pay N10 million in damages for defamation, actress Halima Abubakar has apologized to Apostle Johnson Suleman.
The dispute began in 2022 when Halima accused the clergyman of misconduct, including womanizing and occult practices.
After falling ill, her family blamed Suleman, though she later clarified she was suffering from an autoimmune disease.
Suleman subsequently sued her for defamation, seeking compensation for the damage to his reputation and ministry.
In a letter posted on her Instagram she said:, I am writing today to acknowledge the falsehoods I spread against you on social media and to offer my sincerest apologies. After deep reflection, I realize the extent of the harm, pain, and distress my actions caused. I admit that I made false accusations, and I deeply regret the damage I caused to you, your wife, Dr. Mrs. Lizzy Suleman, your family, and the leaders of Omega Fire Ministries.
With this letter, I humbly ask for your forgiveness. I know my apology cannot undo the hurt I caused, but I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me. I was not in my right mind at the time. Sir, you have done so much for humanity, and I ask that you extend your hands of forgiveness toward me.
Once again, I am truly sorry for the pain and distress I caused to you, your family, and your ministry. May God bless you, and may the heavens bring peace to your heart”.
