According to the MP, parliament is run by three pillars and the NPP MPs use that same pillar on Hon. Asiamah four years ago.

Speaking to GBC Ghana after Speaker Bagbin declaration, Hon. Ablakwa said, “Parliament is run with three main pillars the constitution, the standing orders and then our convention, that is what drives parliament what under guards the work of parliament and so the Hypocrisy and double standards when they were doing the same to Hon. Asiamah four years ago why didn’t they go to the supreme court”.

He further added that the people of Ghana are looking for to seeing how the new majority will work for them, “They should spare us, we have work to do the Ghanaian people are looking up to the new Majority to rescue them and to reset Ghana and that is exactly what we are going to do”, he added.

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Bagbin, yesterday 17 October 2024 officially declared four parliamentary seats vacant. They include Peter Yaw Kwakye Ackah of Amenfi Central (NDC), Andrew Amoakoh Asiama of Fomena, Kojo Asante of Suhum (NPP), and Cynthia Morrison of Agona West (NPP).

This follows a formal petition submitted by Haruna Iddrisu, an NDC MP, to the Speaker, this led to the NPP majority now being declared the minority in parliament.
