Social media user, KalyJay believes the government of Ghana will swiftly ban illegal mining (galamsey) if there is the promise of financial reward.

According to him, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) can cause the ruling government to place a ban on illegal mining in a heartbeat.

Making a post of his X handle, he said, “If rn IMF say ban Galamsey and come for extra $300m like by 1:30pm them ban am.”
