Ghana’s 5G service in limbo as supplier NextGen InfraCO CEO is abducted

The Ghana Police Service investigating the whereabouts of the NextGen InfraCO CEO.

NextGen InfraCO is the company at the centre of Ghana’s 5G supply.

According to a statement by the Ghana Police Service, Mr. Tony Mintah, the Chief Executive Officer of NextGen InfraCO was allegedly taken by unidentified individuals.

The CEO, Mr. Tony Mintah, is said to have been abducted at the premises of the National Communication Authority (NCA) in Accra.

The Ghana Police Service is hereby urging Ghanaians to remain calm and report any relevant information to telephone number, 0547927272.

The Service also detailed they are conducting an active investigation, and Ghanaians will be updated in due course.

Meanwhile, Minister for Communications and Digitalization, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful disclosed that Next-Gen InfraCo (NGIC), the company awarded the 5G license in Ghana, is expected to roll out the 5G network effective November 1, 2024.
